Evaluating Uhuruto’s 100 Days In Office

06 Jul

In this week’s Star column Evaluating Uhuruto’s 100 Days In Office I evaluate Uhuruto’s presidency and conclude while they have to be given an A for trying in putting together an unprecedented cabinet in terms of competence and professionalism, they overall get a failing grade because they have not done single major thing they said they’ll do in their first 100 days in office this while engaged in the usual, petty politics such as trying to “tame” Raila and now in this shameless effort to discredit Kethi Kilonzo who stands to be the first elected woman Senator in Kenya.

ONE can only begin counting Uhuruto’s 100 days in office from the day the Government was completed under the new Constitution – that is two Thursdays ago when Principal Secretaries were sworn. April 9 is when Uhuruto were sworn in. So up to June 8, 60 days – upto July 8, that would be 90 days. After March 4 elections, a lot of time was wasted through the sham petition by Raila. From March 9 to April 8, Uhuruto had not assumed office. So where do you get 100 days from ?   Mohamed Warsama
